We recently went away to a specialist outdoors activity centre who cater for all needs. Due to this amazing bed we were all able to sleep soundly knowing that our daughter would be safe.

Connor has settled in his Safespace quite quickly and seems to really enjoy his own space. For the first time in 10 years he has slept soundly all night long for 4 nights in a row this week. The Safespace is worth every single penny and thank you so much for making our lives so much better.

The best thing we’ve ever got

The Cosyfit has just been delivered and the benefits it has provided already are remarkable. My son was unsafe in his own bed, having broken a collarbone falling out, and once being trapped behind the bedroom door, resulting in a callout for the fire brigade and paramedics! I am delighted to report that now he cannot fall out or get trapped anywhere and I am confident that he is completely safe inside the Cosyfit at night.

Even though it has only been a short time since it arrived John’s sleeping pattern has also shown improvements and this has been of great benefit to all the family. For the first time in nearly seven years we overslept due to John’s improved sleep! I can usually rely on him to wake the entire household anywhere between 3am and 6am. Last Monday I was horrified and yet delighted to find that it was 7.30am and no one else was awake!

Thank you for your help. The Cosyfit has improved the quality of life for John and the rest of the family. It’s the best thing we’ve ever got for him.

Improvement to the safety of staff and pupils

I am very happy to recommend Safespaces to schools with pupils with Special Educational Needs.

We have found that the use of a Safespace can very often prove a much better alternative to the use of Restrictive Physical Intervention, particularly where pupils are tactile defensive or need time away from others. Pupils are able to self-calm away from the gaze of others and without the need to be touched.

The Safespace has improved the safety of staff and pupils at times when behaviour is challenging.

Because the Safespace is a ‘place’ rather than just a technique to manage behaviour, pupils will begin to choose this as a place to go when they begin to recognise anxiety and its effects on them.

Without doubt, the careful, managed use of a Safespace has significantly reduced the need for exclusion as a means to manage behaviour in our school.

A huge help

We cannot believe the difference the Safespace has made to Daniel and our family. It has helped us hugely as a family to cope with Daniel, and it has also helped Daniel to cope with his difficulties. Some of the improvements we have seen are:

- Vastly improved sleeping pattern as soon as it was installed, with no change to his medication (bearing in mind that previously he needed medication to help sleep).

- It is a huge help during Daniel’s periods of anxiety and stress, both for him and the family. It provides safety for Daniel and the rest of the family and gives us peace of mind when he is going through difficult times. It seems to have helped limit his violent outbursts to a minimum.

- It has helped hugely in terms of hygiene around the home.

- His brother assures us it’s very comfy, safe, and has a calming effect when you’re inside and the door is zipped up.

- For the second time since the Safespace was installed Daniel is now in the process of having his medication reduced. This medication has previously kept our son on the island [the Isle of Lewis] where the only other alternative for him was a mainland placement at huge emotional and financial cost. We would not have thought this reduction possible without the Safespace.

As a family we have a happier, more contented boy since the Safespace was fitted, and it has helped massively with the management of his needs and difficulties, way beyond our expectations and hopes.

A positive and happy place

I believe that our Safespace has helped to keep children in our school who might otherwise have had to go out of county, to residential provision. The Safespace is a positive and happy place for children who are finding life difficult and need to be calm. The Safespace works well as a strategy written into Behaviour Support Plans and alongside approved techniques such as Team Teach de-escalation. Pupils find it a supportive place to be in and will often ask to go in there to play.

Thank you all so much for the Safespace you have fitted for our son Lee. The difference it’s made to all our lives is unbelievable. Lee loves it, he sprints upstairs at bed time now! He is sleeping safe and we don’t need to worry if he does wake, we are sleeping through the night with no worries. Thanks to you all for helping sort out a problem we never thought we would solve. It’s a simple idea that works. Two very grateful parents.

A genius idea

Our little lady can’t and doesn’t say much and you don’t often get a reaction from her, but the Safespace got a huge clear ‘Oooh wow!’ when you delivered it. She loves it. She likes her own space sometimes, and now she can retreat to her new room and play safely. She’s sleeping better through the night too and we all (her 3 siblings too) feel more relaxed. It puts our minds at rest knowing she is safe and happy when she wakes in the night, and when she’s trying to bang her head in frustration she can’t hurt herself. So a big thank you from us all. It really is a genius idea and a solution to many safety problems.

Life-changing

We have just returned from holiday in Florida and used the Voyager for the first time. What can we say! To be able to place our son in a safe and secure environment, and to know that he is both happy (he loved it!) and safe was an absolute godsend, and made the holiday stress-free and highly enjoyable. We can’t thank you enough and will be spreading the word about your company and your wonderful products. Many thanks for lifting a heavy burden from our shoulders with such a simple yet life-changing piece of equipment.

We have just had a fantastic few days in Devon and tried out the Voyager for the first time. It was a great success as Ben accepted it (it has the same feel/smell as his original Safespace) and although he didn’t sleep anymore than normal he was safely contained and less noisy!

We are very happy and can’t wait to try it in our caravan in the Spring. This product has given us a lot of hope.

Thank you for everything you do (all of you at Safespaces), as these products really are life changing for families like ours. I can’t imagine going back to our pre-Safespace days!
