Installation

Safespaces and Cosyfits will be installed by Safespaces staff. We will agree a date and time with you beforehand. Other products will be posted along with full assembly instructions.

Safety and Hygiene

All Safespaces products are extremely tough and durable. All materials used in their manufacture meet UK Fire and Safety specifications for flame retardancy – details available on request. Safespaces products are highly soil, stain and odour resistant.

Safespaces are not a substitute for supervision.

Funding

Safespaces products have been bought as freestanding items of equipment and also as fixtures or housing adaptations. They have been financed using a variety of statutory sources, for example by hospital or community loan stores, the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and some local authority funds e.g. equipment or adaptations budgets. We find most people who need a Safespace are generally able to get funding for one. Please see Funding Information for more information, and if you need further support, including an up-to-date list of charitable organisations that may help, please Contact Us.

VAT Exemption

All Safespaces products are eligible to be zero rated for VAT as they have all been specifically designed for use only by disabled people. However there is no blanket VAT exemption for people with disabilities. Relief may only be provided if the equipment is solely for the domestic or personal use of a disabled person or persons and one of the following applies:

  • It is paid for by a private disabled individual or their guardian.
  • It is funded by a registered charity either directly or by charitable or voluntary funds which are donated to an eligible body (usually health authorities or non-profit making organisations) specifically for the purchase of the equipment.

These are the only circumstances that Schools may claim under, if neither applies, VAT will be chargeable.

In all cases, you must sign a declaration of eligibility which we will provide. It is an offence to wrongly claim VAT relief.

Safespaces reserve the right to change prices if necessary.
