Stepping up again with BHTA’s Steptember

It’s back – and so are we!

Supporting our colleagues at the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) we will once again be participating in Steptember, a fundraising event which will this year raise money for the Stroke Association.  Several members of the Safespaces team took part last year and we’ll be putting our best feet forward again this Steptember.

The Steptember Challenge

  • To walk 10,000 steps every day of September (30 days) with a total of 300,000 steps.  We’ll be walking, running, dancing or adding steps around the factory and doing what we do at Safespaces.
  • 10,000 steps is approximately 5 miles and over the month, we’ll rack up around 150 miles per person. Phew!
  • With over 210 BHTA members involved in the event, that will amount to over 63 million steps (which is over 31,500 miles)
  • We’ll be gaining sponsorship and seeking out new routes to add to our Steptember numbers.

Event organiser Sally Edgington from BHTA said “Following the success of the inaugural event last year and raising over £3500 for Scope we felt that this year we could recruit more BHTA members to participate and hopefully increase the amount raised for a fantastic cause. The monies raised for the Stroke Association will be presented at our annual awards dinner at The Alton Towers Hotel on 29th November”.
