Our attractive, easily cleaned special needs beds, designed with the involvement of NHS staff, come either with a netting roof or open top and tube holes where you tell us they are needed. Used by adults and children in a range of treatment and care settings, our beds have been described as “child friendly” by nursing staff and the clear windows, soft colourful sides make them a more appealing choice for the patient, allowing access to watch TV. Our design meets strict hygiene requirements. Over forty NHS Trusts across the UK have bought Safespaces products for use in hospitals, care homes or at home. Our beds are of particular relevance to hospitals planning to meet their obligations regarding the CIPOLD Report (2013) recommendations.
We can provide cleaning, maintenance or transfer on request.
Examples of how our equipment has been used in hospital settings include:
“It has prevented a great deal of safety incidents for us.” Jilly Heath, Trauma Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
“We now have children able to watch TV in bed (through the clear window).” Manager of a Short Break Unit, Lancashire
