Safespaces is delighted to be exhibiting at [The Occupational Therapy Show 2026](https://www.theotshow.com/), taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 25–26th November. Visit us on **Stand E10** to meet our team, explore our products and celebrate 25 years of working alongside occupational therapists. The OT Show is one of the highlights of our year, giving us the opportunity to connect with occupational therapists and healthcare professionals, share knowledge and discuss how the right equipment can support people with complex needs. **Celebrating 25 years of Safespaces** This year marks 25 years of Safespaces. Over the past quarter of a century, we have worked alongside occupational therapists, families and professionals to help create safe, supportive environments that enable people with complex needs to sleep, relax and engage in everyday life with greater comfort and independence. Our relationship with occupational therapists has always been central to what we do. Their clinical expertise and understanding of individual needs continue to inform how we design and develop our products. At this year's show, our team will be available to discuss our range of products, demonstrate our flagship Safespace and answer questions about our products and process. **Supporting clinical knowledge and professional development** We're also pleased to be delivering an important discussion around restrictive equipment, consent and lawful occupational therapy practice. Our OT Consultant, [Kate Sheehan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/katesheehanot/?isSelfProfile=false), will be presenting a session titled *‘Restrictive equipment, consent and lawful occupational therapy practice’* in the Showcase Theatre on both days of the show. The session will explore how occupational therapists can make lawful, proportionate and person-centred decisions when considering restrictive equipment or adaptations. Visitors can also find out more about the Safespaces Academy, our free online educational platform for occupational therapists and healthcare professionals. Developed with clinicians and informed by our experience working alongside OTs, the Academy offers resources covering topics including sleep and occupation, restrictive practice, and legislation and policy. **Join us for our 25th anniversary celebrations** To mark this special milestone, we're hosting a **drinks reception on our stand at 4pm on the first day of the show, Wednesday 25th November.** Everyone is welcome to join us for refreshments, a short speech and an exciting announcement as we celebrate 25 years of Safespaces. **We’re pleased to share that we have successfully passed our annual ISO 13485:2016 audit, reaffirming our commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.** Earlier this week, we underwent our annual audit against the requirements of **ISO 13485:2016** and successfully passed. We first achieved ISO 13485 certification in 2025 and since then we have continued to maintain the systems, processes and quality standards required by this internationally recognised standard for medical device manufacturing. For us, the annual audit is about more than simply maintaining our certification. It gives us an opportunity to review our processes, demonstrate our continued compliance and make sure that quality remains embedded across everything we do. **What is ISO 13485?** ISO 13485:2016 is an internationally recognised quality management standard specifically designed for organisations involved in the design, manufacture and supply of medical devices. The standard sets out rigorous requirements for quality management systems, helping organisations consistently meet regulatory requirements and deliver safe, reliable and high-quality medical devices. **100km. 2 Days. One Incredible Cause.** On the 30th and 31st July, the Safespaces team will take on our biggest fundraising challenge yet. Together, we'll be walking 100 kilometres (62 miles) from our Safespaces office in Todmorden to the home of Caudwell Children in Newcastle-under-Lyme. We'll be walking through the day, through the night and into the following afternoon with one goal in mind - raising £10,000 to support disabled and neurodivergent children across the UK. **Why We're Taking on This Challenge** Last year, Safespaces proudly selected Caudwell Children as our Charity of the Year. Caudwell Children provides practical and emotional support to disabled and neurodivergent children and their families, helping them access specialist equipment, therapies, assessments and life-changing services that can transform everyday life. Many families face long waits and significant financial barriers when trying to access the support their children need. Through fundraising, we can help make that support available sooner. Together, we can help create brighter futures for children who deserve every opportunity to thrive. Long-term sleep deprivation can have a serious impact on a person's ability to cope with everyday life, affecting both physical and mental wellbeing. For many of the families we support, sleepless nights are not an occasional challenge but a constant reality, as their children require care and support around the clock. We are walking throughout the night, not only to help raise funds for Caudwell Children but to raise awareness of the challenges these parents and carers face. At Safespaces, we have extensive experience working with autistic individuals and their families. Through our interactions with users, we have gathered valuable insights into how our Safespace can be a beneficial and supportive environment. While we recognise that autism is unique to each individual and that there is no 'one size fits all' solution, we have identified key ways in which the Safespace can provide comfort, regulation, and safety.

We're proud to share the successful delivery and installation of six Safespace Hi-Lo beds at the prestigious Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool.
