Our products are used by adults and children who would be unsafe in a standard room or bed. When we use the term complex needs or additional needs, this includes a broad range of issues affecting people who might use our products, including people with learning disabilities, (sometimes called learning difficulties, special needs or intellectual disabilities), autism, epilepsy or behaviours of concern.

We need to collect information about the level of mobility of the individual or individuals who will use the product, their behaviours and also the environment where the product will be installed. This helps us to recommend the most suitable product and to help you select the features that will best meet your needs.

You can design the features you want on your product and choose the colours you like from our range.

We do not design or provide quotes for any Safespaces products without the involvement of an Occupational Therapist (OT). While we are the product experts, it is the OT's responsibility to determine whether the equipment is appropriate and necessary for the individual, as they are the clinical experts.

Safespaces can be installed in both rented and council-owned homes. Private renters can apply for a DFG with landlord approval. Council tenants may also access DFGs, although adaptations are often funded through the housing revenue budget instead. Safespaces are a cost-effective, sustainable solution. They are reusable, relocatable, and designed with minimal impact on the property structure—ideal for rented or council-owned accommodation. Unlike permanent fixtures such as room padding, Safespaces leave little to no trace when removed and help prevent wall damage, giving landlords confidence in a temporary, non-destructive safety solution.

Every Safespace is custom-designed to fit the available space. Features can be tailored to individual needs and preferences (as per the OT's clinical recommendations), including a wide range of colours and accessories.
